Taxco

Alexis comes to Mexico every year and we meet in Mexico City then head for Acapulco.  We get a great deal from http://www.autoturismo.com.mx/ which includes five star hotels in Taxco and Acapulco and roundtrip first class bus for two for under $450 for four nights.  Taxco is a beautiful city, white and bright in the sun.  The cathedral sits atop a silver mine and no more silver can be taken out for fear it will damage the church.  The city is filled with silver shops and arts and crafts and Alexis shops till she almost drops then it is time for a lemonade or a margarita.

A large Christ statue stands guard over the city.

The buildings are all white; the Christ statue can be seen at the top of the photo

Streets are hilly and require good shoes and good shape
